Located in the highlands, Jatiluwih rice terraces are the largest rice terraces in Bali. Jatiluwih literally means “really good” or “really beautiful”. The area offers a beautiful view of contoured rice terraces that irrigated using a traditional water system called Subak developed by Balinese farmers and is the best example of Bali’s outstanding picturesque rice fields. You can wonder at the vast expanses of the terraced green rice paddies stepped along an entire mountain from its peak to its foot and experience the local farmers at work in the fields, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the lovely view and peaceful atmosphere. This place is open to visit from 8 am – 6 pm every day.
